How ffsms Works?

To post FriendFeed entries from your mobile phone, please follow these instructions:

1. Make sure that you have a mobile phone and enough balance to send SMS.
2. Make sure that ffsms is listed on your Allowed Applications list.
3. Make sure that you read Terms of Use.
4. Make sure that have recorded your PIN. (see Account Details)
   Warning: Don't share your PIN with anybody.
5. Use the phone number of the country you are sending your message from.

5. Create a new SMS from your phone and set this number as recepient (To).
6. Your message should be in the following format:

Format : FFEED  YOURPIN  YOURMESSAGE
Example : FFEED   Hello everybody!

8. Enter your message, then 'Send' it.
9. Your message should be delivered in a few minutes.
10. Please note that there is the possibility that your message may not be delivered. This application is not meant to be used for emergencies or mission critical purposes. The technical problems may be due to the GSM operator, in which case we have no control. (see Terms of Use for further explanation)
11. Done!

How to post to Twitter via ffsms?

You can automatically post to your Twitter account with ffsms.

Visit Advanced Twitter Settings page of your FriendFeed account and apply the changes shown below.

Terms of Use

1. ffsms service is not affiliated with FriendFeed and Facebook but uses its API.
2. ffsms does not store any passwords and remote access keys of your FriendFeed account. OAuth authentication system does not allow us to reach such personal data.
3. ffsms does not share your GSM number with anybody else. However, they are stored for logging because of security reasons. We respect your privacy.
4. We are not responsible for SMS messages sent using your PIN (Personal Identification Number). Someone may still catch your PIN by coincidence. Warning: Don't share your PIN with anybody.
5. We are not responsible costs of using this service. Our phones does not charge extra fees other than standart sms fee. Please check you mobile carrier's web page about tariffs.
6. ffsms does not guarantee that the SMS (Short Message Service) you have sent will be posted to your FriendFeed. There may be always technical problems on the system.
7. You are responsible for delivery of your SMS. Messages sent to our GSM numbers from another country or messages sent from Web, Google Talk or API most probably won't be delivered. Use your mobile device.
8. We do not and cannot refund the charge of this service.
9. ffsms does not send spam SMS to your GSM number. However, may be advertisements on delivery notifications.
10. Some kind of special characters may not be posted correctly and may cause typos.
11. FriendFeed supports text-messages up to 350 characters and also our service does. However, it is strongly recommended to keep the length of your SMS below 160 characters (incl. FFEED and YOURPIN).
